VirtualSim-Heli
A SimCopter (1996) remake
Fly the whole helicopter fleet over your original cities, with fire, traffic, pedestrians, the full mission career and the old cockpit HUD. It also has a real sky, ray traced reflections and a few secrets.
I make remakes of classic games in Unity. They load the files from your own copy of the original, and then they play like the ones you remember.

An Eye of the Beholder remake
The original dungeon data, walked in real-time 3D with FPS style movement and mouse look instead of the old tile by tile view. Download the latest build and point it at your own copy of the game.
A MechWarrior 2 (1995) remake
Your original MechWarrior 2 files, rebuilt as a Unity game: the original menus and videos, walking mechs, weapons, explosions and ray traced lighting. Download the latest build and point it at your own copy of the game.
None of these projects include any original game data. You bring your own legally obtained copy of the game, and the engine reads it from your disk. That keeps things honest, and it means the original art, sound and level data are exactly what the original developers made.
You'll hear them called remakes, remasters or mods, and any of those is fine by me. Technically they're reimplementations: new engines that read the original data.
All of them are fan projects made for the love of the games. They aim to feel right more than to match the originals byte for byte.
